A lot of you are misusing the power of social media.
….Posting on message boards like you are a Russian disinformation call-center.
…trolling.
…writing to cause negative reactions just to get a reaction.
Shame on you.
Do the opposite of “trolling.”
I don’t know if the inter-webs has a word for posting positive social media messages to strangers yet, but there needs to be an antonym for “trolling” on the inter-webs.
“Hype fan” is a positive term that comes to mind.
Instead of bringing someone down in life, you use creativity and knowledge to bring people up.
Now don’t get me wrong, I have enough dark humor and sarcasm to make a dead man laugh, but I don’t think it is the most admirable quality in making everyone smile. There are appropriate times (such as in the infantry) that you crack dark jokes and say the most outrageous stuff to help cut tension and stress, but overall this low-ball messaging needs to go.
One channel that I have been trying to help hype is “The Truth Swagner” and his love for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Truth has been hosting live-streamed NFL watch parties this year on YouTube. He doesn’t have the biggest audience, but I’ve enjoyed following along his broadcasts.
I try to contribute good message board content when I can for the Swagner because he’s working on being his authentic self as an announcer with a small audience.
Today, The Truth posted a video update for this upcoming 2022 NFL Super Wild Card Weekend. Some of his material will be shown on ESPN this weekend.
That’s the good word I like to hear as a hype fan!
Good work Joey “The Truth” Swagner!
Search “Joey Swagner” online this weekend and see how he does.
